What is Concrete Poetry?
Concrete Poetry can be defined as words making form. It is distinctive from abstract image-making. The term abstract refers to ideas or concepts that have no physical referents. But when a visual poem is generated through word play, typography, figure-ground relationships and other phenomena, form is given to an idea. This form-making makes the abstract idea available to the senses: it makes it concrete.About the Concrete Poems
